3 weeks for softer and or shorter hair.
15. Can I swim or wash my hair after getting it done?
a. If you already have locks then of course you could wash your hair right after and it will stay neat and locked.
16. How long do it take for my hair to lock?
a. On average, 3-6 months for kinky textured hair and 6-12 months for softer, finer hair.
17. Are there stages of locks with this method?
a. Yes, just like the traditional way of locking the hair, your hair will go through a baby phase (0-3months) into the teenage
phase (3-6months) and finally the matured stage 8-12months.

a. By adding human hair to the tip of the locked hair and extending out.

a. Good and bad is relative, I would like to think that everything has a cause and effect. Extensions are added
weight onto the hair follicles so depending on the type of hair you have, getting extension may not be th thing for you.
A consultation with a professional Loctician is necessary to discuss in detail about your own hair.

a. Yes, you have at least a grace period of 2months before it before more difficult.
22. Do I have to cut all my relaxed hair before I can wear locks?
a. Permed hair does not lock so you make keep the permed hair for length but when you choose to lock, you must
have at least three inches of virgin hair before we can start.
23. How long do the extensions last?
a. They stay in your hair as long as you need them. For most people an average of 4 to 5 years.
24. Is it ok to wash my own hair with my extensions?
a. Yes

a. Yes, one would twist the new growth.
01. What is this method of locking hair?
a. It’s a unique African basket weaving method that requires a tool to assist in creating the locks.
02. How is this method applied?
a. We begin locking your hair from the tip to the base or root of the hair, gathering all hairs around it.
03. How is this method different from other locking methods?
a. We do not use any products (e.g. Gel, wax, or butters) to assist in locking the hair, just water.
b. With our locking method we start from the top and end at the bottom, other methods start from the root and
tightening towards the top.
c. It does not pull or cause stress to the shaft hence uniform locks.
04. What are the benefits of this method?
a. Once we have touched up your already locked hair, one can shampoo the hair within a week and it will not
unravel.
b. In the long run, it free your time, now no need to spend time after washing hair to re-twist.
c. No need to sit under a dyer.
05. Some say they are knots, is this true?
a. NO. Its woven unlike knotted.
06. What length of hair do I need to start my locks?
a .At least 2 1/2 inches of hair is a good start.
07. Do I need to use products to maintain my hair?
a. NO. Our method of locking is sufficient to hold your hair. Adding products will be a personal choice rather than
necessity.
08. Do I need to tie my hair with something before I sleep?
a. No, it’s not necessary for this method of locking hair. However, one can tie the hair to smoothen the front and
top of hair.
09. What shampoos do you recommend?
a. We recommend that you use shampoos without de-tangelizing agents to prevent unraveling of the lock due to the
softening agent in de-tangeling shampoos.
10. Can I condition my hair when I am just starting to lock my hair?
a. No. It has a tendency to unravel the work, so its better to wait until the lock has fully formed.
